One Artist, Many Exhibitors!
TUFA Trier invites citizens to participate in a collaborative exhibition
In 2022, TUFA Trier launched an exhibition project for the first time, inviting local residents to contribute their private artworks to a public exhibition. The occasion was the 20th anniversary of the passing of the Trier artist Jakob Schwarzkopf, a well-known figure in the city’s collective memory whose works still shape many public buildings today.
The project was a great success, with over 200 artworks submitted and publicly displayed for the first time. However, it was not just about the artworks themselves, but also about the stories behind them and the shared remembrance of the artist and the person behind the work.
40 Years of TUFA – A Tribute to Klaus Swoboda
To mark its 40th anniversary, TUFA Trier will once again call for participation in 2025, inviting the city's citizens to co-curate an interactive exhibition.
This time, the focus is on another influential artist of the Trier cultural scene: Klaus Swoboda. A former chairman of the Society for Fine Arts and Ramboux Prize winner, Swoboda played a key role in shaping the local art world. The newspaper Trierischer Volksfreund even referred to him as a "VIP of the Trier art scene". His regular exhibitions and dedication to art education earned him widespread recognition, making him one of the city's most renowned artists.
His daughter, Hannah Swoboda, also has a special connection to TUFA. She has been actively involved in various projects for years, including the spontat e.V. association, performances in the TUFA musical, and other productions at the cultural center.
