Germany in 1946: The country lies in ruins, both materially and morally. Hundreds of thousands of Germans have to undergo denazification. The British military government is gathering material on the world-famous conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler – searching for documents, interrogating witnesses and finally Furtwängler himself. But the longer the investigation takes, the more obscure the case becomes. Has the famous man been an opponent of the Nazis – or their ardent supporter? Much depends on what side you take.
