Critically acclaimed dance piece directed by Luxembourg based choreographer Emanuela Iacopini, BLAST is created and performed in collaboration with outstanding artists such as Frey Faust, Yuko Kominami, and Saju Hari to an original composition by Indian sound designer Rajivan Ayyappan. The piece explores sound projections and the impact of explosions on the response mechanisms of the human body. BLAST discretely reflects on destruction and creation, transition and transformation, the end and the beginning, searching into the light and darkness of explosions. A live performance where Butoh, Axis Syllabus, Kalaripayattu, and Contemporary Dance enhance the creative process of the dancers. Produced by VEDANZA, coproduced by the Centre Culturel Régional Opderschmelz and the Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck with the financial support of the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture, BLAST was created, premiered and toured in Luxembourg, Turkey, Morocco, Italy and Portugal.
