📖 Synopsis:

A Broadway flop!
The scathing review in the New York Times forces Dee Dee and Barry, the show’s lead actors, to try to improve their image with a selfless act. After some research, they focus on the case of “Emma,” a lesbian student from Indiana who is forbidden to attend the prom with her girlfriend Alyssa.

Dee Dee and Barry, supported by Angie, Trent, and Sheldon, set off to the provinces to launch their media-worthy campaign against this injustice. There, Emma fights optimistically for recognition.

After she actually wins her right, she gets tricked... Do Emma and Alyssa have a future together? Will the Broadway stars find success again? And will the prom even take place?

All these questions are answered in TUFA’s new musical, The Prom.

🎬 Background:

The musical sparked such enthusiasm after its 2016 premiere that Netflix recognized its potential and produced a film starring Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman in 2020.

In autumn 2025, this musical about acceptance and tolerance will hit the stage at TUFA Trier.
